The President and CEO. Although at times he tries to play the "loving father" role as CEO, Karl Erikson is far from a naïve man. He is quite aware of Woodbridge's plans and is constantly taking precautions to avoid one of her many "traps."
In his late fifties, he essentially inherited Crescent International when he was in his thirties from his father, who had founded the corporation around the turn of the century. Though the company had been steadily growing since its foundation, it remained a mid-sized corporation until the Crash of '29. In the confusion which followed in the wake the Crash, Erikson seized several key opportunities, taking great risks with new technologies and risky investments. Despite many analysts' predictions that Crescent would falter, Erikson came out on top with one of the largest corporations in the world. This was due in large part to his vast financial assests in terms of banking enterprises, stock brokerage firms, etc.
