Commanding Officer of the Crescent Guard, which is officially known as the Crescent International Enterprises Strategic Defense Company.  German trained, Stälstig held a reasonably high rank in the MET 2000 before receiving an offer from Crescent International in 2046 for his position.  At the time, C.I. had no military unit whatsoever.  Between 2046 and 2048 Stälstig organized and assembled the corporation's light company, mostly from old mercenary associates and retired military officers.  Since then he has replaced all but an elite handful of the company with fresh recruits whom he personally trained.  Although they are untested in battle, Stälstig boasts that his reasonably small outfit could feasibly defeat all but the largest of the megacorporate armies -- and even then based solely on sheer numbers.  A shrewd tactician and a master of improvisation, Stälstig thrives on the idea that corporate was is urban, covert, and requires strict discipline in order to minimize losses for a unique brand of occupation.  Nevertheless, he wages war constantly with the C.I. budget committees, feeling that his units are underfunded and as such, less effective.

{According to all reliable sources, MET 2000 let Stälstig go with a mixed blessing.  Although he was a very effective commander, he was also intense and sometimes brutal and cruel.  It is reported that over the course of twnety years of service with MET 2000, he was indirectly responsible for the deaths of at least eight individuals.}
