ESB-Frames
Model I
A Model I ESB-Fram covers the upper-body and arms. It is powered by twin power packs mounted
on the thighs. The manipulators mounted on a Model I are standards,
there are three "fingers" and an opposable "thumb." Each finger is
about 20 cm long and has joints at the 5 and 15 cm marks. The Model
I provides additional strength and limited armor protection. A datajack
is required for operation.
Cost: 150,000 ¥ x Strength Bonus (Max 6) | Armor Values: Ballistic-1/Impact-2 (3/2) |
Battery Life: 2 hours | Weight: 4 + Body |
Availability: 10/5 weeks x Strength bonus | Street Index: 4 |
Model II
A Model II ESB-Frame covers the entire torso, both arms, and has leg mountings which partially cover
the thighs and lower legs. It mounts two batteries on the back and
offers considerable armor protection. The Model II also provides
the user with additional strength and requires a datajack for operation.
The Model II has standard manipulators.
Cost: 300,000 ¥ x Strength Bonus (Max 8) | Armor Values: Ballistic-4/Impact-3 (6/4) |
Battery Life: 3 hours | Weight: 9 + Body |
Availability: 12/6 weeks x Strength bonus | Street Index: 5 |
Quickness Bonus: +2 (only while battery is active) |
Model III
A Model III ESB-Frame covers
the entire body. There are full leg and arm mountings, the entire
torso is covered, and a helmet is also provided. It provides excellent
armor protection and can be sealed against the elements. It requires
a datajack for operation and includes several internal program chips to
help maximize operational capacity. Batteries are mounted on the
back and the Model III employs standard manipulators.
Cost: 500,000 ¥ x Strength Bonus (Max 10) | Armor Values: Ballistic-6/Impact-4 (9/7) |
Battery Life: 3 hours | Weight: 15 + Body |
Availability: 16/10 weeks x Strength bonus | Street Index: 10 |
Quickness Bonus: +4 (only while battery is active) |
>>>>>[Hey, chummers, I wouldn't believe everything
these people say about the ESB-Frame battery packs. I was recently
on a run and got to personally borrow one of these from a corp. The
battery life is good only as long as you don't move. Once you start
movin' though BAM!! the battery runs itself dry in a
fraction of the still time. So, be wary if you get one of these things...after
all, my chummer's battery ran out at a MOST inopportune moment.]<<<<<

Frameware
Battery Recharger
Recharging your ESB-Frame's battery at a local sub-fusion generator can be a pain and it can be expensive.
So we've figured out the least expensive way to charge your frame.
Do it yourself.
Cost: 5,000¥ | Weight: 5 |
Availability: 6/2 weeks | Street Index: 3 |
Extended Batteries
Knowing that your batteries could always use an extra jolt, we've put
forth the extended battery pack. Available for Model II
and III's only, the extended batteries are mounted
on the thigh for longer use. Adds 2 hours to battery life.
Cost: 10,000¥ | Weight: 1.5 each |
Availability: 6/21 days | Street Index: 2.25 |
Enhanced Manipulators
"Hands" in the form of human hands. Four fingers and an opposable thumg (fingers are approximately
8 cm in length) permit the user to type, write, fire modern firearms, all
among other things not possible with standard manipulators.
Cost: 30,000¥ | Weight: 1 each |
Availability: 8/21 days | Street Index: 3 |
Internal Weapons (Model III only)
All weapons are built into the arm of the ESB-Frame. Ammo is stored in an internal magazine.
Most weapons require the removal of the manipulator on that arm.
The Heavy Pistol and the SMG do not require the removal of the manipulator,
nor does the Rocket Launcher, which mounts over the shoulder. Up
to three heavy pistols, each with an independent magazine, may be installed
in a single arm.

>>>>>[Don't
look now, chummer, but they already are. Think about it, these pieces of hardware
can make you, for many intents and purposes, invincible. Sure, the suits
cost an arm and a leg, but considering the fact that they're "reuseable," easily
repaired, and the only piece of cyber the user needs is a datajack, it makes
them pretty scary. Especially when one considers that the corps have the
cash to throw around on these things.]<<<<<

say. Tried to make a run against a certain megacorp's certain high-security
warehouse in a certain somewhere and was a bit ill-prepared for the defense
they yanked out on me. My team of five was cut down to two by only a single
one of these fraggin' things. It mounted two rocket launchers and an LMG
in the left arm and hot damn, could that thing move like crazy.]<<<<<

you met the Maniac. I'd say the security he provides is quite apt.

>>>>>[I hope
y'all don't forget that these things are not originally intended to be weapons.
Sure, they can be outfitted as such, but Regular Old Corp, Inc. ain't gonna
throw around 5.1M¥ on one of these. Perhaps a company that relies
on environmental clean-up or hostile environment work might invest in a few
of the more docile models, but only corps with BIG bucks and BIG paranoia are
gonna sink their teeth into a combat model.]<<<<<

>>>>>[Ah,
but let's not forget NATIONAL militaries who are sponsored by NATIONAL budgets
with NATIONAL size interests and NATIONAL size capital. They are willing
and ready to throw 5.1 million away on these apiece. Especially it is
means they are going to have an easier time regulating corps and shadowrunners.
Keep that in mind.]<<<<<

something just occured to me. What about riggers? Can these things

---Turbine <08:34:39 / 01-02-56>
>>>>>[Yeah, but its pretty much a waste of
time. Despite all the things they can do, their subsystems don't
want to respond at the same speed as the rigger. What I mean is,
the edge the VCR gives you is basically blown because the ESB-Frame ponders
along.]<<<<<

things are faster than a wired lightning bolt on Kamikaze! I haven't
personally tried this rigging experiment of yours (because I can't get

there's a way to speed the thing up to coincide with the rigger's speed
of thought.]<<<<<

and built in weapons systems, but it differs from ESB frames in a big way.

and other business purposes, the Omega was designed with combat in mind...]<<<<<
